It's day's like this that remind me that I have the best job in technology PR in the world. I get paid to spend time with people like Robert Scoble, Brian Lam, the team from Engadget, and others. For those who couldn't attend the keynote, check out the virtual site to see what Bill had to say. There was some cool stuff from the keynote -- in particular, I like the Windows Vista demos, esp. the ability to have a live video as desktop background. I also like the home server, can I have one now, please? :) Rob Guth from the WSJ has his perspective here.
For me, it was validation about the way the communications industry is evolving. The truth is, there is a place for blogs, for broadcast, for daily print, for weekly print, for radio, for TV, for podcast, for longer leads. Each has its strengths and weaknesses, but when they come together in real time at an event like this, readers/viewers/listeners have the advantage of perspective in a way they have not in the past.
So, this is good -- the blending of a variety of media makes for goodness. Is this the future?
Ask me tomorrow when I've had more sleep. :)
