iTunes Conspiracy

This cnet au piece on how random or not iTunes is will spark some news for sure, especially based on the insinuation that there is trickery going on with the labels. Pah.

First, I thought Steven Levy did a pretty good job of debunking this in his book. Second, the methodology used by the cnet team, while fun, is NOT statistically sound. Finally, if you want to see power at work in the music space, check out this WSJ story from today re: how tunes show up in iTunes in the first place.

Nothing to see here, let's all just move along.
