Okay, i'm late to the party, but this whole outrage over the CES TV outage is a bit out of control. Yes, turning off the TVs was juvenile. Yes, it was funny. But good lord, it was not the most important thing that happened at CES, and there will be no long term implications, either. Bloggers will not be exiled to Siberia next year, because the folks at CEA are smarter than that. The credibility of all bloggers is not suspect because of the actions of the few, any more than the screw up of a single reporter casts all reporters into purgatory.
My favorite line from the crunchgear screed:
And unless bloggers are ready to act their age and use their skills, energy, and position to help consumers and not piss of PR folks, they’re also sunk. We’re almost there, but each stunt like this pushes us back a notch.
Oh ho, now there's something I support! Not pissing off PR people should be the prime directive for all bloggers!
