Lots of chatter about Twitter being down most of the weekend, which made me think about the relative priorities of my various communications channels -- the way I personally receive information.
1. Catastrophic: no Internet connection (I include my smartphone here). Lose this -- either at the house or at work, the world is coming to an end. PC can be down so long as the phone is up, phone can be down so long as the web is up -- lose both together, ugh.
2. Bad: RSS feeds don't update. Grr. Way too hard to flit from site to site for news updates.
3. Headache: subscription expires on any of my deluge of publications (WSJ vanished for several days, turns out that while information still wants to be free, the Journal expects me to pay for it. WhatEVER).
4. Meh. Twitter goes down.
There you go. :)
