Big news. NYT story here, but no real details. According to both the WSJ and the NYT:
Marcus W. Brauchli will step down as the top-ranking editor of The Wall Street Journal after less than a year in the job, four people briefed on the matter said on Monday, just four months after Rupert Murdoch took control of the paper.
It matters because of the changes taking place at the Journal, and because of Murdoch's reputation. The WSJ is a standout publication, and while I've never met him, Brauchli certainly comes with a great reputation as a newsman.
Update: Isn't this going to have more impact than the future of twitter or any other web 2.0 company news for the day?
