I was talking to my Mom tonight about the Olympics, and she asked, "why do you think some of these athletes keep doing it? Why do they keep coming back and training so hard?" My response was simple -- they've not lost the competitive fire.
And neither have I -- and so begins round two of the PR Week blog challenge. This time I'm up against Ed Moed from Measuring Up. Ed has a pretty balanced view of the communications industry and offers some good commentary and advice along the way - for sure worth a read. Go ahead and check it out -- then come back and click here, scroll down a bit, then click firmly on Glass House. My goal here is to be like Michael-- but please not the one-hundredth of a second Michael. My fingernails are way too short for that.
Plus, show a guy some sympathy. Football is about to start, and neither of my teams are looking good -- both the Oregon Ducks and the SF49ers are coming into the season pretty grim looking at the QB position. It does not bode well for the happiness of the Shaw household on upcoming Saturday and Sundays. So a victory somewhere (hint: PR blog) might be a nice salve.
