Enough with the "xx is dead" meme, eh?

I mean, c'mon. PR is dead. Blogging is dead. Marketing is dead. And now, Jeff Matthews joins in on the newspaper is dead theme. Why now? Because the selection of the democratic VP nominee was announced via text message, sez Jeff. Conveniently forgetting that the story had been broken by....wait for it....NEWSPAPERS! Maybe because those same newspapers broke it online means it doesn't really count.

Oh, TV killed radios. And movies killed theater. And video killed movies. Wait, TiVo killed TV, I think. Or maybe it was something else.

Let's be real. Newspapers are in danger. Some are evolving and some are not. Some newspapers will no doubt cease publication. Many will not. So can we stop killing everything off?

Update: Obama campaign says it was CNN that broke the news. But LAT and others were hot on heels.

You forgot the news release is dead :)

Yes, it's getting old and it is a shortcut for half-baked arguments. So I agree, enough, already!
